Colin Robinson is the name of a brilliant character – an energy vampire –  in the show What We Do In The Shadows. Last year about two months before our big show, Nick and I had a super long and hard day when we drove out to a small MN farm to retrieve an enormous chunk of tree. Eventhough we already had many (plenty) projects in the works, I insisted that we take a full day to do go claim the wood. I knew it was going to be very special, considering that it was an old white oak tree, and the tree that Nick's wife grew up with in her front yard. The day was hot and it took us a solid three hours of intense work to cut up the pieces we wanted. Then another hour to load our trailer. 

During this time of life, Nick and I were both watching the show on our own time. We often joked about various scenes, usually about Colin Robinson. While we were nearing the finish line of getting the big stump into our backyard, I joked that maybe it’s name was going to be Colin Robinson. Nick gave that classic surprised laugh. That was the sign. The name stuck.
