His childhood obsession with legos and baseball evolved into a love for rock climbing–all of them studies of shape and movement. After losing his job at the beginning of Covid, he began to apply this kinetic sensibility to a material he’d been surrounded by his whole life: wood. Standing in a room with Tyler, you’re struck by his physical presence. He has long, strawberry blonde hair. Hands strong enough to wring a heifer's neck. And bright blue eyes, crazy eyes, eyes that seem to see just a little bit more than everyone else, almost like he was a mystic but actually not because he doesn't need all that woo-woo shit. Who needs astrology when you blast through life like a burning comet, when you yourself are the blazing star? A desire to make something weird, pretty, and heavy as shit drove Tyler to try his hand at butcher blocks. He loves the long, slow process behind most of his work. It’s a little like gardening: In order to help bring your plants to the point of harvest, you simply show up, see what’s needed, then put in the work. Eventually you have a bounty. He’s just here to help, and share that bounty with the folks he loves (hey guess what: that includes you). Each of Tyler’s creations is a statement piece, a functional work of art you’ll have forever. They’re built to outlive you, so you better get busy making babies. Tyler HoffartMarah’s favorite part of working with fibre is the variety. When she feels restless, she can quickly craft a simple garment with her sewing machine. When she wants to slow down and relish each step, she can blend wool fibres, spin them into yarn, weave them together on the loom, and watch a full beautiful cloth grow into existence. Whether she’s using traditional or modern techniques, tearing apart the minutiae of wool or feeding fabric into a sewing machine, Marah sets out to create pieces that are strong, meant to be used, and will last for years. Marah is like a whole lot of sunshine crammed into a jar. She’s tiny, but when she smiles you can see all her teeth, and her curly black hair grows up and away from her body like a plant unfurling toward the sky. Her hands are small and capable. She’s a tough cookie: loyal, gritty, strong in the way our ancestors were and we don’t have to be. She doesn't take shit or talk shit. But there’s a whole lot of softness there, too. Marah loves to nest. Things fall into place in her hands, becoming cozy, intentional. In her presence, you can rest. Marah’s handmade clothing makes you feel warm, makes you feel happy, makes you feel loved. Her rugs and fibre art cozy up your space. Her scarves and jackets wrap you up like a hug. Each piece is practical and beautiful, containing both movement and joy.Marah Harings Nick Smith ABOUT SHOWS WORK CONTACT Our Work ABOUT SHOWS WORK CONTACT Our ShowsABOUT SHOWS WORK CONTACT FULL GALLERY SCULPTURE FIBRE BLOCKS FOR PURCHASE Felt CoatBACK TO GALLERY Full Gallery Description Story Tickets Upcoming: When The Moon Was Home LEARN MORE Week Long Gallery Show Nov o2-o6 1oam-5pm Honest Studios Main EventNov o6 7pm-1opm Honest Studios GALLERY SHOW & EVENT ABOUT SHOWS WORK CONTACT HOME SHOWS WORK CONTACT HOME ABvOUT WORK CONTACT Sriracha chia echo park cold-pressed, trust fund shaman godard mixtape quinoa marxism. He’d be content to sit there on the couch, a leg pulled up to his chest. With his lip piercing and his beanie he looks every bit the skateboarder he was, and still is. He’s the quiet one, and that comes through in the way he makes art. He’ll stand there and stare at something, smoking a cigarette, and go, “hm.” Then he’ll sit with it. There’s lots of thinking, lots of visualizing. A sort of pulling taffy, taking an idea and going over it again and again. Nick has struggled with addiction and mental health throughout his life, and has been through many treatments. Sculpture is an outlet for him. It’s a place where his problems don’t go away, but become different. Transform. He sees things that most of us don’t see. You could describe his process less as sculpting art and more as finding it. Through his investigation of materials, he uncovers fantastic beauty. He inspects, asks questions, wonders where things could be, could go, could live. He tends to find it, the beauty, that was right there the whole time. His sculptures feel alive in a way that’s a little disturbing. He takes wood, metal, rough materials and turns them into something silky and kinetic and otherworldly. His Garden Bench looks like it came from Mars. It’s a typical love story. Full of good days and bad. A story of grief. Of coming back again. Of hard work and long sunset walks and trying forever to find the sweet spot. A show about what it takes to believe in each other. And where we can go together. A place where past, present, and future mesh in a visceral way.

When The Moon Was Home is not a static event with content meant to be viewed at a distance. It is immersive from beginning to end, with touching, gripping, hanging, hearing, wearing, listening, eating and connecting – all bearing witness to the process. To the rhythm and form of a life well lived.

Our functional wood and fibre art, an unlikely duo, together unveil sacred glimpses of deep love and passion, both whispering to us – “Remember.”

Come remember with us.

With great love,

OOO
(Tyler, Marah and Nick)

On February 5th, 2022 while out running errands, Samuel K. Hoffart was struck and killed by a drunk driver on a beautiful Saturday morning.

Just like that, he was gone. Our show is dedicated to him.

He was my pops and my hero. He was his daughter Bailey’s best friend. He was a blooming grandpa-flower to her kids. He was his youngest boy Ben’s teacher and business partner on a beautiful farm. The farm they built together.

My brother and I have his exact hands. Our sister has his heart. Her kids have his curiosity. We all have his light.

Since Dad left this plane, OOO has been trying to find a way to honor him. To make him proud. He was the shop’s biggest fan and supporter (alongside momma of course). Since he lived for his family, he just wanted to see his kids do well. He wanted us to work hard, to be good to ourselves, and to be there for each other.

So that’s what we’re doing. We’re working hard. We believe in each other.  We’re all in. We’re putting ourselves out there, with our entire collective heart, and we’re hoping Sam Hoffart can feel it out in the cosmos, the vibration of his love still living.

When The Moon Was Home is dedicated to Dad and the light we’ll always follow.

-Tyler

“He believed in me with all his heart. I can remember feeling like he believed in me too much, that maybe it was even a fault of his. But he never stopped, and eventually I started to see myself through his eyes. I think everyone deserves that, to have someone believe in you so much that finally you start believing in yourself.”

– Bailey Veskrna, daughter (dad’s favorite)

There’s something different about what Nick makes. He’s burned the rule book. It’s living art and fundamentally strange.Bison$55o Each (Set of two) See Details HOME ABOUT SHOWS CONTACT Price Story Specs STORY OF DADPRIORITIZED * COMMISSIONED ON-MOUSE-OVER HOW EVER WE WANT TO CATAGORIZE ON-MOUSE-OVER HIDDEN PHOTOS ON-MOUSE-OVER HIDDEN PHOTOSON-MOUSE-OVER HIDDEN PHOTOSON-MOUSE-OVER HIDDEN PHOTOS(Process Photos)FLIP THROUGH INVITE ABOUTSHOWSWORKCONTACT ABOUT SHOWS WORK CONTACT BLOCKSFIBRE SCULPTURE CARE SPECIAL PROJECT a Terms Privacy Cookies JOIN OUR NEWSLETTER ENTER YOUR EMAIL SUBMIT ABOUT SHOWS WORK CONTACT BLOCKSFIBRE SCULPTURE CARE SPECIAL PROJECT © 2023 Three Circle Shop.
