DESCRIPTION: Where There Was Wind highlights work by the late Michaela Mahady, an influential architect and artist who left us too early, losing her life to acute leukemia. The gallery showcases the wide breadth of her life’s work including: original sculpture, fiber work, paintings, sketches, journal entries, and projected images of her large-scale architecture + art glass designs.

In addition, gallery collaborators and local artist trio, Three Circle Shop, presents their striking collection of sculptures in the exhibit. These pieces, made from wood, wool, steel, and concrete, are a tribute to the artist’s late father, a hardworking farmer from South Dakota, who was killed by a drunk driver.

Feelings of grief are universal and powerful. We hope Where There Was Wind leaves guests feeling seen, heard, and open to the subject of loss in ways that feel like a warm hug. We are their love living.
